Mohave was originally ordered by the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway in 1953 from the Budd Company, and delivered as a 48 seat long distance coach. This car immediately entered service in Santa Fe's pool coach service where it served as economical transportation for travelers. Retired from daily revenue service Mohave was acquired by it's private owner, Quad City Rail Link in 1994. They have extensively upgraded Mohave every year thru 2005. Today Mohave's gleaming, fluted stainless steel exterior welcomes travelers back aboard when rail travel was paramount. Although constructed over 53 years ago, Mohave is as technologically up to date as today's most modern railway equipment. The railcars interior, done in a wonderfully appointed southwestern motif, reflects it's Sante Fe Railroad heritage.
Today we are proud to announce a renewed beginning for Mohave, by way of it's conversion to a full fledged, convertible, first-class lounge, whose combination of luxury, versatility and unique design are un-matched. Features of the Mohave
The Mohave is truly a go-anywhere, do-anything first-class car whose design and amenities not only position the car as a perfect stand-alone private car but also ideally complement sleepers, diners, and coaches.
