Pullman-built in 1950 for service on the mid-century edition of the Chicago-Seattle/Portland "Empire Builder", inaugurated in 1951. Interior reconfigured in 1963. To Burlington Northern in 1970. Never owned by but leased to Amtrak during peak travel periods 1971-1974, after which it was held by BN for company service. Renamed Stevens Pass in 1976. Number BNA22 added by 1984. Acquired by BNSF through merger. To OMR in 2003, numbered 100, and original name restored.
