American Rail Excursions is proud to present another addition to its fleet of vintage railcars, the Swift Stream! Built in 1949 by the Budd Company for New York Central, Renumbered in 1952 to #10627. Name removed and renumbered #660 in 1967 and used as parlor/buffet/lounge. Became Penn Central #4415 in 1968. Acquired by Amtrak in 1973. Renumbered #3204 and car name restored. Acquired by private owner. Completely upgraded in 1993. The Swift Stream is from the New York Central's Great Steel Fleet and from the post-war streamliner era comes this true classic with modern amenities featuring elegant form and function. Six double bedrooms, shower, kitchen and pantry, Art Deco lounge, and dining area for 16. |
